In April 2008, the awards of Blocks 1 and 5B in offshore Guinea Bissau were gazetted by the government.  The gazettal marks the formal start of the first phase of these permits.

As mentioned in the Annual Report (available via the link below), due to unexpected circumstances out of the control of the company, Sphere has been working with TransAtlantic Maroc Ltd. and Stratic Exploration Morocco Limited to collectively seek a company willing to be assigned and assume its full participating and working interests for both Guercif and Tselfat.
